School of Technology

The School of Technology WorkTribe Readiness Group has been recognised by the University with an award by the 2024 Professional Services Recognition scheme. The team was honoured for their outstanding work in the “Innovating and Improving” category, highlighting their critical role in successfully implementing the new WorkTribe research grants system across the School.

The award acknowledges the group’s collaborative efforts to prepare the School for the first major rollout within the Transforming Research Support (TRS) programme. Their efforts were praised as a “model for all other change programmes in the University,” demonstrating exceptional collaboration across departments and central offices. The successful launch of the WorkTribe pre-award module was described as "seamless," bringing significant benefits to academic and professional staff by improving grant application processes and increasing transparency.

One nominator highlighted the group’s decision to delay the original launch to ensure the system was ready, noting that this approach "massively contributed to the credibility of the system as a trusted tool for improving workflows." Another emphasised the group's role in setting a "new standard for innovative ways of working in effecting successful change."

At the awards ceremony, attended by several team members, a framed certificate was presented. This certificate will be displayed in rotation across the different departments, as a testament to the team's exceptional contribution.

Congratulations to the Technology WorkTribe Readiness Group for their well-deserved recognition!
