Introduction

The University provides training to help you further develop skills and understanding which will enrich your approaches to research and to teaching, as well as 'transfer' into other areas of life. The Researcher Development Programme (RDP) is aligned with the national Researcher Development Framework (RDF), which sets out the knowledge, behaviours and skills of successful researchers.

Research students and post-doctoral researchers are encouraged to dedicate about 10 days per year to developing their skills. While it is essential that you take responsibility for your own skills development, the School and your Department will do all they can to support your training and development needs.

Visit the RDP website for more information about the training courses available. The course timetable and online booking are available online.
